The Lamyong stool is the winning piece out of the 76 entries we received for the Sit Happens stool making competition in the 10th edition of B+Abble in 2025. Rooted in the Tagalog word lamyong, meaning "to link or connect," the design pays homage to the rich interplay of relationships in physical, emotional, and conceptual contexts. Inspired by the ancient pre-colonial Filipino script, Baybayin, the stool integrates its flowing, interconnected character forms into its structure. Each segment mirrors the elegance and fluidity of Baybayin, emphasizing its cultural significance while creating a distinctly Filipino aesthetic.
